I am thinking of taking on an ex-racer to give me something to play with while my mare recovers and i could get ready for next year so i will have a back up then as you never know whats around the corner!

So wheres a good place to look i have tried ex racers but not a lot on there and you can't advertise for one any more any other sites i could look at

Find out local trainers and give them a ring, and see if they have anything coming of the track. We emailed all our local trainers, and had a fair few responses.

What about this forum or maybe have a look on the ROR website.

Best way is to contact racing trainers, most that aren't good enough for racing are given away or sold very cheaply (couple hundred?) Although for a horse thats fresh out of racing does need about 6 months turned away so you maybe best with buying one that has already started its rehab, but these are more expensive-plus think why is it for sale?? They are a great project but its pretty full time and much harder than breaking in and schooling an untouched horse, Good luck!
