Can anyone recommend the dimensions required as OH is going to build some in the future for our mares to be scanned in.... shame they don't fit in the cattle crush!!

Also any pics of what you have would be helpful too!

There's a thread in Breeding a couple of pages (at least) further back with some pictures of our home made stocks.
Actually, if you took off the overhead arches and lined the sides with strong ply, including the gates so feet can't get through, there are several studs that do use normal stocks with complete safety for horse and handlers.

Saw some recently that looked pretty goo made of scaffold poles. The uprights ere cemented in and the sides and front secured using scaffolding brackets, the back end had angled pieces welded on for the breech bar like a cattle crush so that it could be adjusted for smaller mares. Rubber mattingfor secure floor footing.

This one was outside but it would be good for in a barn and it was very sturdy.

or there is this the posh version http://www.iae.co.uk/equestrian/extras.htm

We have the IAE ones and worth every penny in my opinion but then we also have to keep up apperances being a public stud and AI centre ,customers like to think you have the proper equipment and quite rightly so
