So did our dressage today, then rang mother to find out where the pony jumping was at (she had D with her) and she announced he had broken the box. Now this is a hulking great 3 horse trailer, very heavy, a bit rusty. HE had shot off (bar not done up) when the ramp was being lowered and a hinge had sheared off. SO had to sort out with dad to drop the horses home and bring the lorry down to pick up the ponies (didn't want ponies going down the motorway in it!)
So that's fine, wait a few hours to jump in the 80. Mother appears and announces I should do the 65 as no way D will jump this, this and this filller. So, pride offended naturally I insisted on the 80, although he hasn't jumped since december but anyway!
So popped him in, he was strong but controllable and jumped clear! So 36 in the JO, we were 27th. Watching all the tiny kids on tiny ponies, flying round then its our turn. Tried to trot in, no good, slow canter. Pause for a moment to wait for the bell, enough time for turbo charge and he flew! Really honest, loads of effort and he only got 5th place! Delighted with him, although it took all of my effort to hold him.
Couldn't in the lap of honour, he reckoned he realy deserved to be a racehorse
Very pleased, considering he used to be soo unkeen, he really enjoyed himself and thrashed the grade a's that people seem to like taking to these unregistered shows.
Mind you, it did seem to be all the uncontrollables in the line up, many with the big riders on them, perhaps because the smaller ones cant control them?
ETA:the good whoops is father decided horsebox is so decrepit we might see if we can part x if for an ifor williams, we dont need a three horse one anyway!
