Had a fantastic dressage lesson on Sunday on my little mare. Remember I posted recently about her going overbent and becoming short in her neck, well we stopped this on Sunday.
We worked a lot on leg yeilding from the track to the centre of the arena and shoulder in to get her using her hind leg and pushing her into a contact with my legs rather than me fiddling about with the front end(years of bad habits!). We also worked on medium trot and transtions within the pace through the legs and upper body rather than the hand.We did this in both trot and canter.
Also worked on counter canter figure of eights which really straightened and lifted the true canter.
She also has a habit of 'dropping' me when I make a transtion from trot to walk which we stopped as well.
By the end of the lesson she felt a foot longer in her neck and a hand bigger. She was super.
I was extremley achy yesterday so must have used muscles I don't usually use! However, gave it another go last night and she went even better!
I will try and get some pics next week!
