I have just read the article in today's H&H by the ILPH oficer Paul Teasdale. Absolutely excelleent, agreed with every word of it! Basically, he is saying that many of the cases they are called out to now involve obese horses - and many of the biggest culprits are those who show horses, and the judges who approve of overweight horses by giving them high placings. He also makes some great points about how many people feed their horses for too much inappapropriate food for the minimal exercise they receive - and overrug up native ponies, who are far happier and healthier in their natural unclipped state. Sure there will be some letters to H&H about it next week, but personally I think he makes some great points. Feed companies might not like it though!
