Morning all
How was everyone's weekend? (Will read reports next!)
Slightly self indulgent post so apologies but I wanted to post and say a big thank you to BBMat who trekked 2 and a half hours to come and teach at our yard yesterday
It was great to have someone from 'away' and he was absolutely lovely. (Nice haircut too
!)
We went back to basics in my lesson and I finally learnt what a 'proper' warm up consists of and how it can help; not just getting blood pumping to muscles but with everything- Mr D was half asleep as it was soo warm and sunny which didn't help but he was very receptive and instantly warmed to Mat (man has polos, man is new best friend).
He taught us with great synergy (think that is the word I would use) and was hugely in tune with everything that was going on- I suppose you have to be if you are going to train people but he did it with such sympathy and understanding, with a clear way of getting the results. Suitable praise for when it went right too
Highlights of the day would be Mat falling in love with a 13.2 chestnut Welsh section C mare (but we won't mention that!)
The rest of the lessons were really great to watch and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them although they were hard work too at times.
I sat for three hours with my back to the sun and now have very very burnt bits around my shoulders
Ouch!
So thank you Mat and we look forward to your next visit!
