Am looking for some advice. I have a 6yr old Irish sports horse. Very happy and healthy. Passed a vetting a year 10 months ago. Been in work 18months (was broken late). She is quite clumsy, typical baby. She is fearless so gets herself in all sorts of bother.
To cut a long story short she is a real sweller! Se threw a splint earlier in the year. Never lame but a cannon bone the size of a tree for 10-14 days. Mud fever last winter her fetlock blew up like a ballon. She came in from the paddock yesterday with a minuscule cut on the outside of her hock. About the size of a 5 pence piece. The leg is about 4 times the size of the other leg and is boiling. Lunged sound as a pound in w/t/c on both reins. Vet coming tomorrow for jabs so will get her to look it over.
So any advice on a major sweller? Is there any management techniques/supplements/boots/therapies
Thanks in advance
