Tomorrow I am going to pay the final £200 for Chester! Eeekkk I will finally own my own horse after 16 years of loaning.
Obviously I will be changing his passport into my name but would I be able to change his registered name?
His passport is through the horse passport agency. His registered namee is Chester, his BSJA registered name is Chester VIII which is what I'd like his registered name on his passport to be.

I'm not sure if it differs between which passport company it is but some will let you for a fee :) think its €60 if I want to change my boys (he's Irish)

If BSJA overstamped his passport to register him with them then surely they have put in it 'registered with BSJA as Chester V111' so it doesn't have to be changed at all except into your name? It only means there are 7 more Chesters registered with them before yours as all the disciplines now have to register the horse with its passport name only using numerals if any the same name have been registered before.

BTW, congratulations, hope you enjoy him.

I changed one of my ponies name, I just had to pay an admin fee of about £10 I think

His passport does have his old name in smaller font in brackets on the front though
