Excuse me, I'm going to moan ...

Our local riding club has a clear round xc and sj day today. Doesn't sound much, but it'll be the first time I've done anything like this in sixteen years (since BC - Before Children) and I'm hoping it'll be a first step in a return to semi-competitive riding, aiming towards ODE's and suchlike eventually.

But it's raining - absolutely chucking it down. Was going to go anyway, but I know Lui will hate it in the rain, wouldn't be a very good first outing for either of us, worried about slipping, churned up ground, etc, and I'm now thinking we shouldn't go ...

But I've been looking forward to it for ages, done some jumping in preparation and I'm really FED UP that I'm thinking the right decision is not to go!!

*Grump*

Ooh I'd poddle round the 1'9" and then go home and get dry. Mind you it's drying up here - but it'll still be slippy, so good excuse to keep it simple. You'll feel grumpy if you don't go :)

Unless the ground is horrendous, go and do the small course (get in early if you can).

If it's bad, eat cake and drink hot chocolate and mark it down to the good old British weather :D. It's what makes us British (or barking, whichever suits).

Hope you have some fun today hun. I, like so many others here, know what it's like to look forward to something and then not be able to do it.

Ho hum.

I did :D

We went and had a walk around the course, the ground was good and not too many people turned up because of the weather so it didn't get too cut up. So we went home and picked up Lui, and actually managed to get our round in between showers, so it wasn't too bad!

After actually tripping over, and breaking, the practice fence, Lui put in an absolutely spanking round, I was SO proud of him. I've got a few pics, taken by my intrepid son who chased us around the course, so I'll post them later!
