My horse has excessive wind.... all the time!

I was starting to worry that he may have colic but he is happy and healthy in every way and his previous owner said he used to fart constantly too!

Does anyone else have a 'windy' horse?!!

There's a Clyde mare at my barn who is the fartiest horse I've ever heard! I've never seen her colic.

My girl saves them up for when I'm picking out her back hooves and then lets one go, silent but deadly

my horse has a lot of gas aswell. It can be a symptom of colic, but is your horse is happy and healthy then there is no need to worry. If your horse lets off a lot it usually just means he is happy, comfortable, and relaxed in his enviroment, wich is a good thing. tense, stiff horses dont tend to fart because they are not relaxed enough, a horse also tends to fart when it is excited. hope this helps, i got this information off some of my instructors and tutors at duchy college because my horse does the same.
