hiya my cob has put on quite abit of weight recently even though diet has not changed lives out all year and is worked but as of this week i found i can not ride till i have had the baby which is four months so what exercise could i do to try and help her lose weight i also can't walk very far. oh and shes a very tricky ride so can't ask anyone to ride her as she does go to chuck them off.

any suggestions welcome don't want her to end up ill

Cut down on rugs if you can? And active walking and trotting is the best exercise to burn fat. Can you lunge?

Can you clip? Some of our fatties that live out on poor grazing and are still fat now have bib and belly clips to try and make the most of the lingering low temps.

As i said earlier, stick to active walking and trotting. Being pregnant you cant exactly put poles out! Walking and trotting for half an hour on big circles and using the whole schooling area, as often as you can manage should help.

yeah will carry on with that if anyone knows of someone who just wants to ride couple of days let me know but needs to be experienced as she takes the mick alot.

might try the clipping will give it a go tomorrow
she has no feed just the grass as she is a very good doer. its quite poor at this time which is why i want to try and get her losing weight before summer grass to keep on top of it easier

as exercise is obviously going to be limited would you consider muzzling for part of the day? I never have but its a route I would have to go down if I couldnt keep my cob in hardish work.
