Exercise Sheet users!

saddle cloth and pad first then excersizse sheet on top

Personally, I take the numnah off and the exercise sheet replaces it. That is if it is a blanket type. I then fold the corners back and trap them between the saddle flaps and the girth. It always holds it in place securely. However, if it is a shaped exercise sheet then it MUST go under the saddle and not over your thighs as shown in most adverts. If you fall off your horse could be frightened by the rip of velcro and the flapping rug.

Between numnah and saddle. I use very thin hi viz waterproof one so it adds no bulk under the saddle, but I am paranoid about it rucking up on their backs so put the numnah on first.

Polypad then rug, means you dont have to wash the rug, i have a wool one, or get a polypad duo!!!! all in one so dont need another pad!

I have a shaped one (Mark Todd). It goes on after the horse is saddled, under the saddle flaps but over the girth and numnah, and attaches with velcro over his withers. Convenient, because then I can remove it when I get where I'm going, without unsaddling.

Exercise sheet, then saddlecloth and tuck the front corners up and under the girth when done up under the saddle flap to keep in place which is much more effective than putting the girth through the girth loops on the exercise sheet.

taking numnah off, far too much faff! just put underneath my saddle and numnah as usual (it is normally 7am!)

now have a wrap round one, don't think will put it on me tho cotswoldsj, have concerns of being too attached to the horse if anything happened, thou spose the velcro should just go.

With my MT one if its not too windy I plonk it on his bottom and wrap it around me once I get on!

Doesn't anyone do this to prevent your thighs freezing??!!!

Not really attached to the horse though is it, it only has a bit of fillet string! Although I suppose it depends on if you fall off forwards, backwards or sideways

I only have wrap around exercise sheets, I don't like the ones that go under you saddle.

Depends on how cold it is as to how it is put on, but usually I have it under my saddle flaps, because it irritates me having to wedge it under my knees to stop it slipping back.
