Hi, can anyone suggest any exercises (at home) that I can do to improve my seat in canter? My biggest issue is not keeping my weight in my heels.

Many thanks!

Pilates. The stronger your core muscles are, the more stable you will be, the deeper you will sit, the less you will grip up with your knees and the less your heels will come up.

Brain exercise! - try and find some articles on the sequence of the footfalls, and memorise what order the horse's legs move in. If you can understand exactly what the horse is doing underneath you, it makes it easier to follow the movement.

Gridwork is actually really helpful (for me), having maybe a bounce, then a stride, then a bounce, then 2 strides, then out.

For the longer strides you have to sit in the saddle, and think 'push' with your hips.
