Ok- so now have come to a point where me and Av can confidently tackle a 90/100 SJ course (on a good day!!). I have become much MUCH better at sitting up rather than crumpling on landing and not interfering with Av over the jump. I also have got much better at sitting up into the fence so that she can take off without me on her shoulders

...however...I am sickened by pictures of me SJ!!!!

Every pictures shows me sitting up beautifully (ish) on take off and landing, my lower leg is nice and stable BUT over the fence my chest is almost touching her crest...(and my boobs arent that big :D)

I have tried thinking about sitting up rather than forwards when jumping, but all I seem to do then is stick my boobs and bum out at the same time like some sort of baboon!-whilst still overfolding!! hhhmmppphhh:mad:

I am assured that while actually going round my position looks ok...and I am pretty sure that the picture is just a 'moment in time' however it is obvioulsy something that I do everytime as every picture is the same! HORRID!!

...any tips from reformed fellow overfolders? (or anyone like to wave a magic wand to stop me doing this?):D

I'm telling you, it's your hands that are the trouble! Close your elbows to your sides and it will stop you burying your hands in your lap.

To be honest it's quite clever how you can bring your hands that far back and still never catch her in the mouth - who knew you were so talented, hahaha!

I think once your hands are further forward it will stop you hollowing your back and sticking your bum out. Off to look back at all your pics so I can shout at you about it tomorrow :D

Im not going to tell you where these are...the ones that I have been looking at tonight anyway ;). Your defo right, I just dont know how not to drop her but also push my hands forwards....maybe I need a plaiting band halfway up mane?

Maybe its also coz I'm too weak through the core so find it easy foward or back but not 1/2 way??!!! Who bl**dy knows....Only good think is that on the same set of pics there are some MUCH worse than me and Av hahahaaha:D (always makes me feel slightly better!!:p)

I have a terrible jumping position and spend hours drooling over US sjers positions on the hope that looking and dissecting enough will finally work on me!

I have to think all the time about slowing my shoulders down on take off and normally find that helps me quite a bit. I also have terrible hands and I think it all comes from my elbows. They are quite solid rather than loose and soft. Finally I need a strong lower leg to help all the above and I am quite annoyed as my lower leg has become a bit loose lately.

Spoilsport! I've just been on fb and none of those are that bad. I'm not sure if you're actually over-folding or if you sometimes just hollow your back a lot which makes it very pronounced. My first solution would be to buy a much bigger horse as I find that covers a lot of faults!

Maybe you should put a pic up so we can comment appropriately? ;)

I am 100% certain that you do not have a terrible jumping position!!- but glad that someone else shares my agony :D!!

..Ok so I am currently sat on a pretend horse in front of my french windows and looking at the reflection trying to work out what I do now and what I need to do to look better!!!- lets hope the neighbours arent putting their bin out else their gonna wonder what I'm doing hahahaha

I think Matafleur is going to have to put her photography skills to good use!! Gonna have to do some experimentation and look at pictures to see if anything gets through to my thick head!!

Get yourself videoed - I had a complete complex about my jumping position because all the photos of me looked horrific. Then I got videoed and it looked fine, I was gobsmacked by how neat it was - so pictures really can just be a moment in time!

Believe me, I am super-selective about what goes on here!! I am not as strong as Baydale, and am a harsh enough critic of myself not to need anyone else to join in ;)
