We took Donovan to his first show yesterday, so it was a busy morning for him. Only the 2nd time he had been on the trailer, then to a new place, seeing lots of new things, and lots of other ponies, would it be normal for him to be exhausted today?
He went out so calmly to his field, almost as if he didnt have the energy this morning, and tonight he just wanted to stand quietly in his stable, which is quite unlike him.
Its almost as if he is overwhelmed with it all. I thought maybe just give him today and tomorrow of and then start doing bits and bobs again. What do you think?
I am being sensible or just a very over protective worry wart? he is only 4!!!

some would be, some wouldn't. so there isn't really an answer to your question...

if he seems tired, I'd give him a day or two turned out or at least not "doing" anything with him before carrying on. :)

sounds like you ad a good day, he looked lovely!

Although not posted have been following your posts on lovely pony doubt he is actually exhausted or tired, maybe just gave him a bit more to think about and he would have done a bit more than usual so could be a bit more quiet.

Dont worry and just carry on as usual he will be fine and he did very well so spoil him a bit.:)

mental stimulation can be exhausting too lol!

I know its a different species lol, but my mums dog does PAT dog work, and after 2 hours of just sitting down being fussed he's as wiped out as much as he is when hes been running for 2 hours :D

same with my dogue de bordeaux, give her a bone to chomp on for an hour and shes wiped out too....
