Any recommendations v welcome - am looking for hacking/trekking for self and daughters (10 & 8, reasonably competent, have own pony. i have foind some places online but always prefer to go on recommendation. Probably looking for a couple of half days.
Thank you!

I spent a few days on Exmoor a few years ago and found a lovely little place called "Outavercott" - hope I spelt that right.

The riding was fantastic, we alternated between going on the tracks around the wooded bit above the Valley of the Rocks/Lee Abbey area; and other rides over the open moorland with lots of fast work if you are experienced. They check that you ARE OK with cantering before taking you on open moorland, which is good!

They are a family-run affair - and I really enjoyed my riding there. Had a super little TB X Shire and she was just right for the terrain.

Recommend them very highly. They are near Lynton/Lynmouth (nearest town).

Dean Riding Stables, half way between Combe Martin and Blackmore Gate. Been out hacking with them on our last 3 visits to N. Devon. Highly recommend! Lovely horses, friendly escorts and amazing scenery.
