He was so nearly a great horse...Always the bridesmaid...so unfortunate for him that he was around at the same time as Kauto.

Agreed, he was always somewhat overshadowed, wasnt he? But AP always stayed faithful to him, I think he really believed in him as a racer. Very, very sad - although I suppose better to go that way than to break down. Remember thinking the same about Best Mate

am away at the moment so not watching the racing but am very sorry to ear about this one a real honest horse always a good each way shot and was very fond of him. sympathy to the connections.

Gutted about Exotic Dancer, shed a tear for him earlier. Followed his career from when he first arrived from France and enjoyed his way of racing, gotta love the stealth tactics!! He'll be much missed.

So sorry to hear this news. RIP Exotic Dancer but really feel so sorry for alll connections. He was always "the bridesmaid" but nonetheless was a v. classy horse.

RIP quite possibly my favourite horse in NH racing over the past few years. I picked him out in his first run at Cheltenham a few years back and always said he was going to be a good horse. Such a shame he never got his gold cup, but atleast he went with a Grade I to his name

Hope you win your gold cup in the sky x

Has there been any more news on Denman?

[/ QUOTE ]

Nicholls said Denman would be put out to grass for the summer and would come back next autumn.
"He is fine apart from a cut to his elbow," said Nicholls. "It was quite a deep cut and he got a good smack on his elbow, but we X-rayed it and it was fine.
"We knew this track wouldn't suit him but he was in the right place at the right time, and would have galloped right to the line."
Thomas added: "He would have won - he just stepped at the fence and I don't know why."

racing is an amazing sport and they wouldnt race if they didnt enjoy it.... its a sad fact of any horse riding sport.... it happens in all disciplines.... sad but true
