Hi! I'm from the US, and have come to the UK for a gap year to gain more experience in the horse industry. I really just want to ride and learn as much as possible, but it's hard to find a position with no connections to trainers or yards. Other than what's on Yard&Groom, does anyone know any experienced trainers who are looking for riding help? I'm currently in Oxfordshire, but am open to relocating if need be. I've reached out to some top riders in the country but without any personal connections, it's hard. I've competed up to BE Novice and BD Advanced Medium, and have years experience breaking and producing young horses. Would greatly appreciate any help! Thanks in advance, and for your time :)

There's 2 yards local(ish) to me in Central Scotland that are advertising for yard help/riders, if you fancy a proper change of scenery? Let me know if you want details.

Reach out to Billy Stud - they often take a lot of riders on and have accommodation. Plus you get training from Pippa and William Funnell.

Are we one of them? I know one of the instructors is moving to Australia and they are always looking for grooms.
