Expensive bridle

Just bought a Jeffries IR bridle, should I treat it in any way before I use it? IT came with a pot of leather care stuff should I use this first?

I have a few elite bridles and was told to on the underside first before using it, but tbh I treat it every time i use it on both sides. I find that pot of stuff can get stuck in the holes but it smell nice and is brill on my saddle too!
Put it this way it wont hurt it

TBH I would, just a quick rub over should be ok. then just clean as and when.
