Has anyone out there any expereince of sharing a horsebox with another person in tems of the initial purchase and upkeep of the box? At my last yard two girls took on a horsebox and up to now it seems to be working really well, they share all the costs & give plenty of warning as to when they will need the box & no rows so far! Too good to be true??

If there's anyone out there who would maybe genuinely consider such an agreement it would be great to speak to you - having spent ages looking at investing in a 4x4 and trailer ive now decided one of the better options may be the Renault master conversions or Marlborough Hunters, both of which can be driven on a normal licence. Im in the Leicester area so anyone around Leicestershire who may be interested let me know!!!

I'm on my second horsebox share.

First was a Marlborough Sport, went very well for about 4 years and only ended because my horse died and I decided to take a break from horse and travel for a year. We mutually agreed to sell the box at that time.

Then when I got back to UK, I got a new horse and bought a Marlborough Hunter which I've shared with another friend for the last 2 years. This also seems to be working out well.

I'd definately recommend it but would strongly suggest that even if you're sharing with a good friend (in fact especially if you are!) you draw up an agreement of sorts to cover every eventuality so you both know exactly where you stand.
