Just wondering if anyone has had acupuncture recommended or used it for their horse - in addition to veterinary attention, of course.... - my horse has been treated by a vet and I know that alternative/complementary medicine is not an acceptable replacement etc etc and I am sure there will be cycnics, but am not wishing to start a debate
- just wondering if anyone has tried it with positive effects or none?
I have used acupuncture for pain relief myself and am convinced of its effects on me, so am considering it for my horse who was diagnosed with KS last year and although the KS has not been a problem recently, we've had some saddle problems and a muscle problem in his hind end and he is not 100% happy. He is also being seen by a vet physio and the saddle is being checked again and he has had his teeth done, too - so all of that is under control! - I may need to consider another steroid injection for him soon - and will consult the vet accordingly - but I know that some vets recommend acupuncture for extra pain relief.
Would be grateful to hear of anyone with experience of this, whether for back problems or otherwise. Thanks!
