Hi so basically i have a horse that within a week to a fortnight has gone from head shaking uncomfortably generally in canter to darn right grumpy and agressive to handle and unrideable. So the osteo came out today and her atlas was out. Has anyone else had a horse become so out of character due to the atlas out?

Yes, I have had two in the yard that had this problem, the first was a pony that must have been carrying the injury for some time, he was very sore and came in as a "naughty pony" to be sold, a couple of treatments and some rehab a lovely easy pony found a super new home.
The second pulled back and was sore a few days later, he had 2 physio treatments and was fine.

ye horses can react quite dramatically when poll is out or any other muscle tightness anything like that! i had one and it turned into a total nightmare if youve got a good physio they will sort it out! who do you use?

I couldn't get anywhere near mine, he flipped out completely on me and wouldn't go near anything that moved and panicked if anything went near his head. poor boy :( and a couple of days after it was fixed he was back to his usual (fairly!) lovely self :)
