Just wondering if anyone has used an 'Expert bits' neue schule copy (or any other ns copy) and how they rate them against genuine ns bits please?
The cost of the bit I want brand new is a bit eye watering and typically there's many of them second hand but not in the size I'm after. This version of the bit has popped up on eBay and I'm not sure if it's worth a punt at £45 or if I'll just end up buying the real version anyway.
Thanks.

Hi there,
I've never used an NS copy before, I have a few NS bits and they are a game changer. Is there any reviews on the copies on the website?

I have never heard of expert bits but I have used ns bits in the past but I now use eldonian snaffles on my horses now, I think they are the loose ring lozenge called a balancing bit and they look quite similar to the ns bits but are a third of the price and both my horses go really well in them and are happy so for me they work, I would only fork out for such an expensive bit if I had tried more or less everything else, there is so much choice these days I honestly believe you can find something without spending a lot of money that works.

You can test out bits by ordering a few and paying to trial them for a week, I think Saddles Direct still do it? There is a defiantly other websites that offer this service, I agree some bits are very expensive but I've never bought an expensive bit that's failed me yet. What NS bit is it that you are looking for?

I've tried the bit I want and know it did the trick- it's the neue schule tranz angled lozenge that I'm after, but size 5.25". 5 or 5 1/2" are popular second hand but not the size I need. Sadly the person I borrowed it from to try in the first place is quite attached to theirs and doesn't want to sell it (which is of course fair enough and understandable!) So trying to find a cheaper alternative before I give in and shell out on the NS one :)

I've got a Minos Harmony, which is v similar to the NS tranz angled lozenge. It's a lovely bit, good quality, and everything goes nicely in it.

I looked at the cotswold sport one previously but it seems to be based on the verbinden mouthpiece and the curved mouthpieces seem to be out for her. However thankyou for the suggestion :)
However Auslander, thankyou so much!!! Found the Jeffrey's version for under £35 so quite happy to take a punt on that, very grateful!
