LL's halo is still sitting on the shelf. You may recall he bucked me off last week - took objection to me fiddling with my bra straps. This week hasn't been great - he's being very sharp in the school and out of it, and this evening when I asked him to canter on the right rein he had a head between his knees moment or two. Earlier he had been over reactive off my leg. I'm off on holiday tonight leaving him in someone else's capable hands. They are supposed to be riding him. Ho hum. Quite frankly I'm worried although everyone keeps telling me that he's just pushing buttons.

He has gone from being quite sensible to ticking bomb. The saddler is out next week, as soon as I am back from holiday, although there's good clearance around his shoulders and down his withers. I've just booked him in for a back lady session. I had better book him in for teeth while I am at it. Is there anything else I should be doing?

I'd be a bit hesitant to let someone else rude him whilst you're away, until after you've had the back/teeth/saddle checks done. Would be awful if he bucked your friend off whilst you're away and did some damage :(

I think I would be giving him a holiday rather than let a friend take the risk of riding him. Might be the grass if the rain has caused a growth spurt like it has here?

I'd also give him some time off , not worth getting a phone call ruining your holiday and of course being met with a broken friend once returned should anything happen. A week off will do him some good and then you can start afresh once everything has been checked. Remember you know your horse better than anyone else and if you have doubts that says it all for me x

Thanks. Have had a chat with the last owner. LL will have a holiday until I get back because she tells me that a) he has always been a bit slow off the leg, and b) he has never bucked with her. As she broke him in, I think she would know him. I suspect there is an 'ouch' somewhere.
