Hi there!
I am completing my 'EPQ' which an A Level where you have to research a topic, write a 6,000 word dissertation on said topic and then present your findings. My chosen question is "Are traditional methods for treating Laminitis really viable?"
If you have any knowledge on Laminitis I would be really grateful to hear your information! Feel free to email me on: ellen.orourke99@gmail.com
I'm also aiming to send a questionnaire out and get some responses, so if anyone would like to answer my questions, I'd be delighted!
Here is my questionnaire:
1. Have you ever had a horse/pony that has suffered with Laminitis?
2. If so, what breed, size, and age were they when they first started showing symptoms?
3. What steps did you take after realising that your horse/pony was ill?
4. Did you contact a vet?
5. If so, what was a recommended plan that your vet suggested? (e.g radiographic technique, Phenoxybenzamine, Phenylbutazone or Meclofenamate?)
6. Did you/were you advised to alter the feed that you would normally give your horse/pony? (e.g changing to alfalfa chop, straw chop, soaked unmollased super beet?)
7. Were you given any suggestions if treatments from friends?
8. If so, what were they?
9. Do you think that any of the methods that you undertook relieved the horse/pony from any pain/discomfort?
10. Are you still using these methods to care for your horse/pony?
12. Have there been any long term problems/differences in your horse/pony?
Thank you very much! Either comment answers, or email me with address above. If you know anyone else who'd be interested in answering, please ask them to email me!
