Extra piece with greenguard muzzle

My greenguard muzzle came with an extra rubber piece - does anyone know what this is for?

It is to clip onto a normal or Fieldsafe headcollar to hold the front leather strap on the muzzle. Don't think you need to use it if you have got the Greenguard Headcollar.

Yes it goes around the noseband piece of a normal headcollar, so the front strap of the muzzle can attach to it.

Oh.... thanks. That's good because the front strap was slipping around the noseband today and the muzzle wasn't staying in place. So now, could you explain how you clip it on the noseband please?

you sort of thread it round and back through itself.

Yes, I think I finally worked it out last night. Will see tonight if it has worked.
