hi everyone! new here! im looking to buy my first horse and have seen 1 but it was very underweight and had a really bad ewe neck, would this ever improve? has anyone got before & after pics? also would the weight worry you if owner has had the horse awhile and all other horses were fine? could it be medical? i have more questions but will ask them later!

TBH if only one horse was underweight and the same owner had it for a while I might be concerned that there was an underlying problem. A ewe neck can be improved with condition and muscle with work but a horse built that way will always struggle to carry itself properly and is likely to always be at least a bit ewe necked.

the ewe neck is workable but I would not even contemplate buying a horse that was seriously underweight when the other horses were all fine. I would be wary that there was an underlying medical condition as to why the horse was so skinny.

Mine didnt have extreme ewe neck but it was obvious and she stressed weight off when I first had her.You can see some before and aftter pics on my photobucket link under my name. Her ewe neck was mainly from working like a giraffe she was sj , she works in good outline now and her topline is improving all the while.
