Last week Murphy had 2 days where he turned into a bit of a loon. I rode him in the field where I've been riding all summer and he suddenly went really spooky - head in the air, pooing everywhere, trying to gallop off out the field - and this then carried on in his stable.
Now, Murphy is usually the calmest, most sensible and safest pony around - I've never known him to behave like this.
The only thing I could put it down to was that they were muck-spreading in the adjoinig fields, and it smelt very strong. Someone told me they were spreading pig poo.
Just wondering if anyone else's horse reacts this strongly to this smell?! I can't think of anything else that could have caused him to behave so differently from normal!
