I'm going to take a leap of faith and potentially open myself up for an immense amount of micky taking but I wanted to share something with you all.

I went to see Monty Roberts at Hadlow College a few weeks ago. After the show I bought his book on natural horsemanship and read the whole lot cover to cover. Its fascinating.

To cut a long story short I am able to use my eyes to slow down Pony from canter to halt either free schooling or lunging.

Its mental.

No not mental, I learnt it too. Had a motorbiking tb on the lunge when I first had him. By the time he was sold I just had to look down and turn one shoulder by a few inches. It was amazing. The amount of control with just the smallest movement :)

Yup its pretty amazing when you first discover these things isn;t it? Yet soooo simple.

Still amuses/annoys me (depending on my mood) when I see a lady I know standing in her field, hands on hips, glaring at her pony becuase she can't catch him after she has marched briskly up to him, sure it annoys her more when I wander zig zig up to him then approach him backwards and catch him every time. She won't learn.
