Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone has ever had a similar problem with their horse. I have an 18mth filly who normally lives out 24/7 but on Friday she trashed her electric fencing and had to spend a night in the stable. Went to the yard on Saturday to find her eye all swollen and weeping. I called the vet and whilst I was waiting tried to figure out what she had done. Chunks of hair on the brick doorway of her stable point to the suspicion that she has rubbed/scratched herself until it was raw and very sore
Vet has said she hasn't damaged the surface of her eye but has given her antibiotics and bute and am hoping she hasn't damaged her third eyelid or her tear duct.
I cannot get her to eat her antibiotics and have tried molasses.
Has anyone else had this problem and have any suggestions to get her to eat her meds??
Has anyone ev had an eye injury like this and what was the outcome?
Thanks for taking the time to read this..... All suggestions welcome
