Hello all,

Has anyone ever had issues with their horses eye becoming iterated in the wind?

Occasionally I will arrive at the stable and my horse has his eye half closed, there is usually no or little watery discharge.

The vets have attended twice in a six month period and provided eye drops and are happy there is nothing more going on (scratch etc)

Thank you.

My old boy occasionally has a watery half closed eye. I thi k he runs it on his haynet? I just bathe it and pop his fly mask on. It has always resolved its self within 24 hours.

As a human I get this. My eyes stream in the wind and are really uncomfortable so whilst I have no practical advise I can sympathise! As above could you pop his fly mask on just to provide a bit of a barrier?

yeah I have a horse whose eyes stream in the wind and she seems to get a bit of relief from a fly mask, so if you're sure there's nothing else going on it's def worth a try.
