Hi,
We have an appaloosa x horse who has very pink skin and in Summer he gets painful eyes that lead him to scratching his face and loosing the hair to explose very inflamed skin.
We have had vet out several times, and he says that really nothing can be done apart from wearing uv fly mask (which he does) and putting high factor sun cream on which we do, but sometimes it must get really itchy and he ditches the masks.
He is brought in every morning at 0700 and gets turned back out at about 1900, but the problem is our yard's summer turnout does not start till middle June, which means that he is out during day up until then, since we dont want to keep him cooped up in his stable all the time.
Does anyone have any experience of this, or have any ideas of herbal creams/lotions that would be worth trying?
Thanks
