My gelding had to have an eye removed last year. He has chronic, low grade, intermittent conjunctivits in his remaining eye and I am PARANOID (as is the vet) about what goes in it. A knowledgeable horsey guy (the saddle fitter) has recommended a herbal product called EYE EAZE that you put in the feed and he says did wonders for his horse when it had eye problems. Anyone ever heard of it? Expensive rubbish or wonder product?

I dont think you are being paranoid at all just caring. No ideas on the product but big hugs to your horse i know how he feels i have also had an eye removed so know what he went through. You are right to be worried about using products... sight is something that is taken for granted until its lost. Have you consulted your local equine hospital to see if they recommend anything for it?

Hi Sunnymum and welcome to the forum.

I agree with Stinkbomb. You have a very well known newish equine clinic near Llandeilo and they have a specialist opthalmic department. Give Lisa or Philippa a ring to put your mind at rest. Hx

Having a horse with one eye who has just undergone further cancer treatment on the remaining eye, I feel for you.

I would personally consult a vet who specialised in this area - once you only have one eye left, you don't want to take any risks.
