I haven't posted in ages, let alone in here but I need the collective knowledge of the Dog Forum.

Due to the removal of one eye, my beloved terrier now has one, very precious eye left and this is already under potential threat of loss through the same reason as the first.

Have any of you had to use/adapt standard swim goggles (or other type of mask) for temporary or outdoor eye protection? I have looked at the US based RexSpecs and rather pricey Optivizors and think there has to be a less expensive solution.

Currently, she wears the post-operative cone of shame and is crashing into everything to the left of her as she isn't yet accounting for its presence, and of course can't see it. :(

She is a JRT and into everything - with a passion.

Thank you x

I know people who use RexSpecs on larger dogs with excellent results. If importation/postal costs are an issue, what I do is order things to the address of someone I know will be visiting me soon or vice versa, if that's an option? Maybe someone on here can help.

I know viszlak uses something on her older dog, I think they are the rexspecs, not sure if she can still log in though.

I do have a variety of goggles for myself and think the main issue might be anchoring them to prevent slippage.

I looked at Doggles ILS for my dog when he was having frequent laser treatment.

ILS = interchangeable lens system.

Original lenses have 100% UV protection, shatterproof, antifog but it is also possible to buy special lenses to use with dogs who are being treated with cold laser therapy.

They come in a variety of sizes and also offer a clear lens which would be better for indoor use.

I don't know how well a dog would tolerate them as I didn't buy them. He would lie and relax with his eyes closed rather than stare at the laser.
