Took Blue to the vet yesterday with a closing, weepy eye abd it turns out he has a eye ulcer. He has antibiotic ointment and vet wants to see him again on Monday. Eye looks better already.
Does anyone have any experience I'd these? How long do they take to clear up usually?

My old girl was in hospital for a week tmso she could get frequent treatments. I can't remember how long it took to heal. Maybe a week. Fly mask was essential after.

We caught our old girl's ulcer in time - weeping one evening and vets the next morning - it took about 6 weeks for it to clear and it wasn't straightforward, but fingers crossed
no further problems. She did have to wear the cone of shame to stop her rubbing her face/eye.

Hope Blue's clears up quickly with no problems🤞🤞

Our spaniel had reoccurring ulcers and we were sent to specialist with a nasty one that wouldn’t heal, beautiful big liquid eyes but it was discovered she had dry eye and hence the ulcers wouldn’t heal, regular lubricants and Optimune ointment and 15 months since last ulcer

Just back from our second vets appointment. I thought the weeping and closing of the eye were getting better, but vet looked dubiously at the eye, examined it and said the ulcer was still there, but hadn't got any bigger at least and there weren't any new ulcers. We have some drops to give him twice a day, as well as continuing with the antibiotics, and are going back on Thursday.
We saw a very nice young jrt at the vets. I could have brought her home with me.

Back from our third vet trip, this time we saw a young locum vet who said the ulcer was healing. We're to continue with the 2 lots of medication and go back for a final check up as a precaution next week. He said if this was a flesh would he wouldn't bother with the final check up but as it's an eye, it's important to be careful.

Blue had his final vet visit earlier this week. Vet thinks there's a bit of scar tissue from the ulcer in the eye but as it's not troubling him, he doesn't want to see him again and we can stop the medication.
It was spaniel country in the vet's waiting room. There was a couple in there, she had a black cocker spaniel and he had 2 liver and white springers!

Tawny has just come home from her third vet visit. No ulcer but an infection in there that just won’t clear up. I took her in today for a sedation/GA so they could have a proper rummage but they did it with her awake, she is so good.
Vet always says if one of mine is a sick note she’s just glad it’s not Ffee. They all know her from the annual jabs, let alone the time she had stitches and I had to go and get her out the cage as she had them all too scared to get close.
Tawny drags me into the vets, she regards it as a social call 😃.
I’m glad Blue is on the mend.
