Ok, so might be having a blonde moment but I am a little worried, so options please :)

After washing Ben today I cleaned his face using a damp clean cloth. I noticed what I thought were some hairs from moulting from his winter coat caught in the corner of both his eyes. However, after wiping repeatedly I was unable to get them to budge. On further inspection it appears that the hairs are in fact ATTACHED to the inner corner of his eye (possibly the caruncular?) !

He's always been a little it weepy but nothing major and doesn't seem to be irritated etc. Has any one seen this before and do you think this is/will cause any problems? (Having a panic here about ingrown eyelashes etc - eugh!)

Eyelashes can grow in some random places, they can even start growing out of the cornea!

Looking at the pic, I'd say that these ones are not touching the eye itself, and as long as they keep pointing away from the eye they're not likely to cause too much trouble.

They cause problems when they keep rubbing on the surface of the cornea and cause an ulcer.

Thank you, that what I was hoping, just panicked as I don't think I've seen it before! Yes, they always seem to point outwards but am concerned they may at a later date grow differently/irritate his eye. I will keep an eye on it and mention it to my vet who will be coming soon to vaccinate anyway :)
