Daisy has quite large whites to her eyes on one side and for the last week or so they have been a bit pinky. I wondered if it could be conjunctivitis but there is no gunge or discharge and they don't appear to be sore as she isn't trying to rub them. I've bought her a fly mask because the flies are really bad and I wondered if the midges had been irritating her eyes. It seemed much better at first but not it seems pink again. The vet is on holiday at the moment but is coming out in 9 days time anyway to do her teeth. Do you think it could wait until then or should I call someone else out?

My horse is the same and usually more noticable when the sun is out as yesterday, when it was raining and dull, they were back to normal. I have found that he's always more chilled out when they go pink and seems half asleep. I have been wondering whether to ask a vet too. No discharge either and not itchy.

My horse has that, and gets conjunctivitis. In fact she's just getting over an attack now, which includes an ulcer on the cornea. I would call the vet, and see what they say. It could be that your horse needs some eyedrops.... It's really nasty if it gets to the 'ulcer' state.

I turn Star out in a fly mask now, or rather, will be! To keep the wind off the eye, because that's what causes her eye to flare up.

My friends horse has the same thing and its just because the white part is sensitive to sunlight and it just gets slightly more runny when its sunny the vet said its not at all painful it just makes the eyes naturally more runny.
