Anyone ever heard of this supplement?Is supposed to calm the horse...contains;

EZ Kalm (powder) is a calming product formulated to supply the essential amino acid L-Tryptophan, which mildly suppresses responses from the central nervous system. If a Valerian based product, such as Quiet-X has not been effective this might be the answer. L-Tryptophan is perfectly legal under both FEI & Jockey Club rules so is ideal for use in competition, as well as for travelling and handling difficult horses. It helps to maintain calmness and relaxation and does not have any side effects.

I dont know...bit severe?

I tried all sorts of calmers for my boy none worked I had to totally change diet and enviroment he was in to get an effect, but imo what works on one horse does not on another so its a case of trial and error, you have nothing to lose to try it hope it works I know how frustrating it can be when your horse needs calming

Not tried it - sorry, but I have used 'steady up' (which is natural) to very good effect on a flighty mare when she came into season.
Have also used a Valerian syrup but this had no affect on a cheeky boy with too much energy to walk out when bouncing about like a rabbit is way more fun!
I agree with you that 'suppresses responses from the central nervous system' sounds rather harsh. I'd rather try and find another way of dealing with him. Sounds as though he'd be 'doped'.
