George my 13 year old 15hh is coming back into 'proper' work now that twiggy is having a bit of a holiday to do some growing up and sort her head out.

I've had him since he was 4 and unfortunately his jumping and eventing career was cut short by him being diagnosed with hock spavins at 11.

Since then he has had a pretty easy time as a happy hacker as I went to uni, had to have major surgery and then twig came along and all my efforts were concentrated on getting her going.

I started schooling him again a few weeks ago and to be honest it was awful - stiff, unfree paces and very heavy in the hand.

This past week though he has really improved again and im so glad to be getting the old george back. We had a lesson with margot tiffany today and were doing shoulder in, travers, and a few single flying changes. he felt so soft and felt like a real little dressage pony. Going to hopefully take him out for a few novice tests and then elementary later on in the summer and margot says if we carry on the good work we should be aiming for medium tests in the future

(something I've never done!!!!)

Had to laugh on my lesson today - margot told me to do some travers on the short side and I had to just ask 'do you mean 'a**e in?' had a right giggle about that

So glad to be getting my old boy back to his former glory - he tries so hard!
