I have a couple turn out rugs that need reproofing, I've seen fabsil recommended. For anyone who's used this, how easy is it to apply? Not sure whether to buy a mini pressure sprayer, or just use a normal spray bottle or a paintbrush! And how much would you use for each application? Rugs are 5'9".

Boyfriend also has a couple raincoats that need doing, could I use fabsil on these too or is nikwax wash-in better?

We usually spray from an old washed out kitchen spray bottle but we spray 4 or 5 times waiting for it to dry between each spraying it doesn't take long when the rug is hung over a gate while you are doing other jobs at the stables. On very old rugs we brush it on but it seems to use far more liquid than needed. I have also sprayed fleece hoodies to make them waterproof for dog walking, very effective.

I reproof my 2 6ft Rhino no fills with Fabsil every year after they have been washed. I usually use 1 1/2 litres for two rugs and just paint it on with a wide paint brush. I do soak the edges, seams and tail flap pretty liberally and I’ve never had them leak. Make sure you do them outside on a warm day as it stinks.
