Also posted in vet because I wasn't sure where it went

I upgraded grazing muzzles and bought Daisy a Best Friend this year hoping that it wouldn't rub her face but I brought her in today and found a huge sore under her chin that had come on literally during the day.

Any tips on how to treat sores from muzzles and how to avoid them in the first place? I've padded most of it but it seems to be just wherever it touches her face.

She's a hairy cob so surely if she rubs it must rub all types of horse?

when i had the old style buckets they runned my horses face so used the aloe vera soothing gel till the redness had gone then used something like e45 till it had healed.

Got to say my best friend muzzles dont rub. Which one did you buy? the deluxe model or the one you put onto your headcollar?

thats really odd - did you measure for it correctly before you bought it?

got this off the website I bought mine from:
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HORSE
Measuring

1. Measure, from point 1 to point 2. For instance if you think your horse might be a cob size measure 7" up. See sizing below

2. Then measure the circumference of the nose.

just that i have never had any of mine rub. Ive got 5 of them in total as some idiot decided that removing them last uear from my pony wasnt good enough so they started to break them for me!! Always have a spare in my car now just in case I cant find the one in the field

I have one similar, and it rubbed in exactly the same place. I treated it with sudocrem, which worked a treat. Stick a patch of sheepskin to the bit that rubs on the muzzle.
