Hi Guys ,

I am trying to figure out if this person is trying to scam me … so I have a few items to sell on Facebook . I have revived an inbox from this profile . Non of the picture our very clear they are of a girl jumping different pony each time . On one photo you can make out they are a teenager .

So i had an inbox form the profile they said can I have this item £14 . I said yer sure would you like postage or collection . They replied with have you got jumping boots ? what else can I have ? I replied with Everything I have for sale is on my profile with prices .

She comes back and sends a photo of a Rug I have for sale on at £60 . Then says what do you want for that . I said would do £65 on both items . They replied with I want to pay £10 for both .

I replied with no sorry as anything that doesn’t sell for the price I want will be donated to charity. They then said can you do a swop and sent a very poor picture of bundle of old leather. I again said no .

So over the weekend they have been messaging £2 increases on the offer at all times of night . I replied with I have told you what I am will to accept and i won’t move .

Then yesterday they messaged to ask for the item only at £14 . I said okay will you want postage or collect. They replied with postage . They have send the postcode which is for the Uk . I have a price for postage . But I am wondering if they are a scammer ? I am not sure what they may do . But it just feels off like I don’t want them turn around saying item not arrived or. Damaged and plastering it all over SM . I have never had people behave like that or offer to swap is this normal ?

Should I just say sold to protect myself ?

Thanks all

I would also have blocked them but otherwise I use the goods and services paypal option and say it is non negotiable - money to show in the paypal account before the item is sent. Usually find scammers go silent at this point

Sounds like at best they are trying to take the p completely

It doesn't overly sound like a scam, I've had a few where my items are clearly photographed and they send a link to a random rug saying I'll have it if it looks like this. Well it doesn't look like that as you'd quite clearly see from the description and photos!

I'd very much want money in my account before posting, and because I'm a cynic all my ebay stuff has been sent recorded delivery so they have to sign for it - useful as I've had one say its not arrive - yet my tracking shows its clearly been signed for, in their road, by their name! If I'd sent untracked I wouldn't have a leg to stand on

What really irritates me is when people say they will come and collect something, and fail to turn up, or fail to send payment! Why ask about it and not pay for it!!!

Sometimes the worse ones have been the best buyers. You could always put their name in the Facebook scammers page and see what comes up.
Also if you look at their actually profile name link you can see who they originally made the account name under. That has caught out loads of scammers.

The person doesn't sound like a scammer to me, just a pain in the neck. I wouldn't bother to deal with a person like that. I like someone who will appreciate the thing they are buying, not those people who's desire is to squeeze every last drop of price and then brag afterwards what they did.

Yes, patience is now thin with buyers and sellers. I saw a nice pair of boots and messaged for close up pictures. No reply. Fine, I’ll give my money to someone else.
