Okay, I've been busy after my chat with Ellemoo in this thread:

http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=521715

I said I'd set something up on Facebook to try to make people all over the country aware of the search for Candy. I couldn't decide whether a Facebook "page" or "group" would be best, so in the end I did both.

Ellemoo's story really touched me. If Candy is still alive, someone somewhere will recognise her if her image is put all over Facebook. She's freezemarked, so easy to identify once found.

Please, if you're on Facebook, "like" the page and join the group. Then join all your horsey friends into the group. If you're in any horsey groups yourself, post the group or page onto their wall too.

I'm a woman on a mission! :D

What a really nice thing to do! I saw the thread earlier at work and had to stop reading as it was very emotional and heartbreaking to read. I really hope that Candys owner gets a good outcome. :)

How lovely, will join :) just a thought, but do you think h&h could be persuaded to do an article? That would certainly widen the net!

It would. :) If Ellemoo reads this, perhaps she could consider it? Meanwhile, please keep joining the group (and you can add you friends too) and spreading candy's details everywhere! :)

Thanks Nah and Ibblebibble. :) Getting toward 300 members now. What we really need is Candy's story to come up on Facebook walls country-wide so that someone, somewhere thinks, "I know that mare...". Her freezemark's really clear in her photos, surely someone would notice it?

LOVE this idea!! Who would you ask? And whats the chances of persuading them to do a little article? It would be amazing if they did agree! :D

You could look on the main H&H site and see if there's a newsdesk email? Maybe you could persuade them there's a "human-interest-horsey-angle" story here? Perhaps send links to these threads.

Try going to http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/ , scroll right down to the bottom and find the "contact us" bit.

Just looked back at a thread that HHNewsdesk posted a few weeks back and they gave these contact details for one of their deputy news editors - maybe try her? Guess it's okay for me to repost her email address given it is posted elsewhere on the forum?
