Out of interest who has tried Boswellia?

I know every horse seems to be totally different but I saw on a FB page someone say that theirs responded amazingly to Boswellia.

It’s not one I’d heard of or tried and tbh nothing works for my pony and I’d probably not have bothered but I’d bought and not started a pack from Feedmark so figured may as well.

He’s gone from black water dripping down his tail forming a puddle on concrete so being dry for the first time this winter.

It’s been a good 3 weeks now and I keep expecting him to revert as sometimes I think something is helping but so far so good 🤞

Thought I’d pass it on incase anyone else might like to try.

Ohh I was just going to do a search on this and see what I can do to try and help one of mine. One of my other ponies has some Boswellia so this could be an easy thing to try out.

I may have to remember this. My old mare is good at the moment she is on Gut sponge but it seems to be out of stock everywhere so I may need something to try when I run out shortly!

I sent two friends the link below and they have tried most things but have added 50mg of bran daily and its cleared theirs up. And the horses bums where in a state.

I’ve not tried bran actually, may keep that plan in reserve! Thanks

What else do you do/have you tried? I'm thinking of putting mine on Boswellia for joints. What causes your horse to flare up with the water?

Ps for me my boy doesn't do well on haylage (particularly rich) or rich grass. Also recently his dectomax injection has been making it worse. I also have to slowly introduce him to grass/new grass.

Pro biotics help, psyllium husk, hay, chaff, grass pellets (low calorie one), fennel seeds. Actived charcoal is good too and clay

My horse’s flare ups have been caused (we think) by Pramox wormer (although has had same wormer in the past) and more recently by stress when he got caught up his stable rug straps over night.

Hi, I’ve tried over the years loads of gut supplements, biotics, phsyllium (sp) all sorts of things.
Different hay from an out problem. If it’s even slightly coarse it sets him off.
Grass he’s fine on, but it laminitic so I can’t just chuck him out on grass.

I love boswellia aha - use it for my retired lad to help his joints (along with turmeric and msm), and I use it for my rising 2 year old who has an insanely sensitive stomach and I noticed his poor bottom getting absolutely wet and was wondering what was causing it - turns out the haylage I was getting was too rich - swapped to a drier haylage and added boswellia and boom - nice clean bum which is no longer getting the warm daily sponge bath (also handy as he's a few spot appaloosa so stains etc are attracted to him on a whole new level!)

I've tried a few things but the key is good quality, soft, dry hay. I can't guarantee that at this yard, and he is worse when the hay is poor quality.

I've tried protexin products, psyllium and something else but they didnt work. I started him on FW1661 from Trinity Consultants and it started to make a difference while we were still on a 'phase in' dose.

He is dry now after about 9 days but I don't know yet if it's a cure or a temporary fix. From the FWS Facebook groups it looks like I'm lucky because this only works on fewer than half of the horses who try it. I'll try to take him off it after about 6 weeks and find out if it has fixed him.

My boy had FW a couple of years ago. I used 1 bottle of FW1661 and it cleared up completely. It’s been pretty much non existent for 2 years now bar maybe the occasional (very very rare) damp fart.
