Agh...So youngster is changing shape daily and the lovely comfortable bates luxe is getting too tight on his shoulders (has a slight wither and dips away behind his big shoulders, which is starting to fill out). Saddler has recommended a saddle with longer points, the kent and masters fit him nicely but sadly I have a long thigh and the flaps on both the jump and gp don't have enough room. She has suggested a Fairfax jump as one option but no one seems to stock them in my area to be able to try, I really don't want to buy new for a 4 yr old. Any thoughts on how differant they are to a k and m as have heard it's same/simular tree.
Or other options?

I haven’t had a jump, but the Fairfax saddles are much better saddles than the K&M - I’ve had both. You sit ‘in’ a Fairfax and ‘on’ a K&M. The Fairfax panels are flatter, thinner, and better contoured to the horse’s back, and the leather and general feel is better.

I’ve ridden in the Fairfax classic GPD and classic dressage saddles.

I’ve tried both the k and m and the fairfax - we bought the fairfax monoflap xc as a better fit for my long leg but I really liked the jump too. K and M are nothing special, I’ve ridden in a couple of their jumps and can’t say I got any particular support from it or found it very comfy. It’s a saddle, it does its job and not much more. The fairfax on the other hand puts my leg in a good position without being constricting, it’s very comfy and the leather’s better quality. My dressage one is a year and a half old and it still looks brand new.
However I can see why you wouldn’t want to buy one for a four year old! Hope you find something that works - there are second hand jumps around but they’re not common, we ended up buying new
