Fal Viking Heavyweight Rug

HI

I am desperately looking for any info anyone might have on any whereabouts of a Fal Viking Heavy weight rug, i was looking to purchase one for my other horse as i already have one, but every order has been returned as can't get stock, have since found out that Fal went into liquadation but have since been bought out. Does anyone know anything more on this or can anyone recommend a turnout that has all the qualities of the Fal that I can use. Desperate is not the word now as my horse is desperate to be clipped but i can't till i sort a heavyweight rug out for him

I think the Goliath rugs are just like the Viking but slightly better, I've had a couple of each for yonks and they are all brilliant. you should be able to get a Goliath easily enough even if you can't get a Viking.
do you want 1 with a full neck? and what size?
 
I love my Fals :) I've no idea what is in the same league material/weight wise as I haven't come across anything that's similar. Not sure on your budget but I love my Horseware Rambo Plus but not sure what the new Optimo is like.
 
They always used to measure up a bit big but I haven't had to buy one for 7 years as we don't need to replace them yet, they only come out in the really rank weather.
 
ditto, they always came up slightly large but i don't know whether they still cut to the same pattern etc. obv the length of the horse, not its height, is what matters... i've had huge horses with short backs in short rugs, etc etc.

Thanks for your replies, I have been through ebay and no one is selling 7ft ones and the only 6ft 9" there is which i hopefully should be able to get away with, they say is in blue and i can't find any details anywhere of the viking silverint being done in a blue and it seems really cheap for it aswell.. ???
 
I'm pretty sure the silver interactive in blue will be a 200grm, the 400grm viking is black or silver- double check with the seller

I've got a 6'9 HW FAL Viking rug, in as new condition. Has an integral neck cover. Not the silver interactive one though. PM me if it would be of interest to you.

I just bought a shed-load of FAL's for my boys for the winter at silly prices. I got my turnouts (Heavyweights and Medium weights in 6'6'' and 6'9'') for around £120 (or less) each. Both had necks. These came from Oberon Equestrian. I think they are on eBay but the lady doesn't advertise all that she has. Just email her and she will get back to you. very helpful - I was really impressed.

For Lightweights and stables, I used Equestrian Clearance Sales. I got them at HOYS but they have a website. I have to say I am a total FAL addict. Last ages, really resilient and warm. They do come up a bit larger than your average rug in my experience. PM me if you need any more info!
