falling asleep..

Fudge (as he is now known) the fat welsh sec A, fell asleep on me today... obviously he like me now!

Its been nearly 3 weeks since he came, one move, and now he seems so settled. He follows me about whenever im doing anything in the feild but has been reluctant for me to touch him (dont get me wrong he lets me pick his feet, groom him all over etc) in the cuddly kind of way, although he'll come up to me and nibble at my elbow.

Well today has been miserable so i went up early to pop pinks new rug on (she was a star, and i made no bones about not pussyfooting about with it, chucked it on, fitted it and made her deal with it, which she did and she stood like a DREAM!!! and even PICKED UP her OWN feet instead of me having to tug, shes becoming so okay with me poking her about) he was stood back a bit whilst i did this and fed pink (she is a bit territorial over her food)and then went over to check him over.

Anyway (ill get to the point in a minute) i gave him a good sratch on the withers and he leaned up against me, nudged my hand until i stroked his nose and after about a minute i realised i was supporting his head and he was asleep! aw it felt so lovely, stood in the rain for ages with him. i was gutted i had to leave him to get back to cook dinner. such a good moment

It is lovely when they trust you like that. Dorey's gone to sleep on me a couple of times too. I think if she was small enough she'd curl up on my lap sometimes

Well it seems to be success indeed, this morning both of them whinnied when they heard me at the gate (theres two gates before their gate and the second one makes a noise) usually its pink whickering and grunting, fudge just stands back, but today he went mad and got so close that as i stepped over the stile i could have mounted him in one . i fed pink, checked her over and then he came up and stuck his muzzle on my chest/neck and waited for a scratch, so i will definitely be taking OH up to get some pictures tonight. At least they are settled in now and it means i can start doing things with pink..
