I am a self confessed rugaholic, and since my horse managed to destroy my pretty rugs last year, I have an excuse to buy new ones this year!

I want as much adaptability as possible. I have a 300g liner which is impeccable and I love, so I was thinking of buying a 40g turnout and a 200g liner and then just play around with them.

I also love the giraffe rug and the silver wool rug so was considering getting one of each.

How do you rate FALpro rugs?

The older Fal rugs are excellent. Quality doesn't seem as good these days. I tend to use PE and Rambo now together with my older Fals.

I had a Fal wardrobe several years ago for my horses, as I thought they were such a good fit and comfortable for the horse to wear. I have found though that they don't stand up to being cleaned, and lose their waterproofing even if reproofed. Looking at the tail flap of one of my Bulldogs which isn't lined, there seems to be some kind of waterproof layer on the underside of the fabric, that is peeling in places as my rugs are about 5 years old, so I guess this breaks down with cleaning and use. I have decided I will use them as stable rugs from now on.

I prefer Rambo for keeping my horses warm and dry.
