I am considering buying a falpro rug for my lil man. I just wondered peoples experiance with them?

Good fit?
Sizing-large small?
Quality?
Durability?

I absolutely love them :)

I've had a medium weight and a heavy weight with detachable necks for about 6 years. They are expensive but they out live my other rugs, they wash lovely and have no rips. The only thing thats wearing is the bit of elastic on the neck cover, I'll get that replaced when I put them in for a wash.

They are a good fit and very robust, can't rate them high enough, just wish I could afford more :)

Ive had the cheaper end of the Falpro range and found although they dont suit my horse, they are good rugs. The older versions were fantastic, lasted years and years.
I find them to be generous. They are finished well. If your looking for durability then go for the dearer ones as the cheaper ones are quite a low denier so although mines never leaked, its not stood up to playing in the field like my Rambo does.

I've had two for 11 years! So yes I rate them for lasting!! However my horses don't trash rugs at all. I wouldn't buy one for a horse I didn't know or for a known rug trasher as they are just too expensive.

Three horses have six Falpro rugs between them! One medium with neck, one without (I never liked the detachables on any rugs). They have been used spring and autumn for the last eleven years. The fit is good (two out of three are big Irish boys), they come up like new when they are cleaned, and are very strong. We have just had to replace the oldest rug, due to old age, and one horse having a rug trashing day! Got the same rug (Bulldog) but this time with detachable neck. They have really developed in recent years, and I could be converted! Anyway, the Boy looks very smug in his new shiny Fal, but by morning it will be as filthy as the others!

I am borrowing a h/w combo one off a friend at the mo and i have to say i have found it to be a good fit, has kept horse nice and warm, does not slip or move, and totally waterproof, cant say about durability as only had for a few months, and my horse is not a rug tearer so dont know how they stand up to a bashing.
But i would go buy one, or may just forget to give this one back (till she reads that on here)

The older Fal rugs are superb, we've got some that have gone on and on for years and are still waterproof. Don't like the new ones that were made after the production moved abroad.

I heard that someone else is going to be manufacturing their rugs again as the last company who owned Fal has stopped trading. Not sure if that is true or not but as long as they are the same quality as the original ones I'll be getting some again.

Completely agree with ISHmad. The old ones were fantastic, I've got a few that are 10yrs old I'm still useing.
Newer ones are nowhere near the quality, fittings and material seem much cheaper. I wouldn't pay for the top range ones now, but I think some of the cheaper ones are comparable with other brands.

I read something about the company closing down too?
