False Buns!!

Yep, BUNS, !!! the one on yer head!! Anyone ever worn one? Where do you buy them from?? Just wondering if it would smarten me up a bit... albeit I would have to dye it red!! Short hair under a hat can be a right pain!!!!!!

I've never worn one (too much hair of my own!) but I'm guessing somewhere like Pretty Ponies or Designer Browbands might sell them.

Before you buy just put your hat on and see how far it comes down the back of your head. Mine comes quite far down and I have long hair. I have to have my hair tied right in the nape of my neck so it doesnt push my hat up.
What im trying to say is, if you attatch a bun to the back of your head will your hat sit right? Mine wouldnt.

If you do get one some tips for attachment: you can attach it to some thin elastic to wear round your head (obviously your hat will hide the tell-tale signs and add extra security) or if you wear a hat with a harness you can attach it straight to your hat!
I used to use a false pony tail to put in a bun when I had short hair (lovingly referred to as "The Ferret"

) - I often used to wonder if anyone noticed that my bun lacked highlights or that my real hair would never manage a bun

They're very useful if you have the length of hair that's prone to "tufting" out of your hat!

Could you imagine... a red ball of "hair" in the middle of the arena!!!

I am looking for alternatives if anyone can think of anything... and nope I shall not just shave it all off!!!

No don't shave it off.It looked very tidy when I saw it and I'm sure you could secure it to your hairband that I saw you in. Worth a try ,if you want to but you looked great anyway and who would look at you ,we only have eyes for your lovely horse.lol
